Record Book Changes for 2009

The Participation Summary and Project forms that Clover Kids and 4-H’ers use to complete a record book have been changed beginning in 2009. The purpose of the change is to make the record book completion process uniform across the county and hopefully, easier, too. We will be using the state record book forms, which will be available at the Extension office or at the Iowa 4-H website at: /4H/recordkeeping.htm .

Along the right side of the Kids and Teens/4-H page, a record keeping guide and additional forms can be found.

The Marshall County 4-H Record Book Guide will take you through:

1.      General information such as when record books must be turned in, age and grade requirements, and recognitions that will be given at each level (same as last year)

2.      Order of a Record Book- includes the new 4H Participation Form and Project Records that we ask that you use.***

3.      Additional Project Worksheets Required (same as last year)

4.      Important Information to Remember

*NOTE: Please do not use the Participation Summary used in past years for your 2009 record book. Please do not use the Part 1 and 2 forms that have been used in past years. We ask that you use only the state Youth and 4-H Summary for the Year form and the state 4-H project record forms for 2009. They can be found at:  /4H/recordkeeping.htm .

**A Goal Sheet (formerly the Part 1 form) will be used only for county fair non-livestock exhibits. The Information 4-H’ers include on the goal sheet can be transferred to the appropriate project record form to be included in record books.  This form can be downloaded from our Marshall County Extension website at:

www.extension.iastate.edu/marshall  or at the Extension office.
