4-H girls

The new 4-H year has started and now is a great time for families to get started with a 4-H club in their area.  Program development fees are $30 for youth in 4th through 12 grade.  Financial assistance is available.

The excitement of additional new clubs is growing.  A new club may incorporate one project area into a variety of experiences that provided leadership, communication, citizenship, and more.  Clubs may focus on one project or a variety.  Youth may also explore their interests independently with their families.

Any parent or volunteer willing to offer guidance to a youth club or share their project knowledge with a club may become a club leader.  To get started, there is a 4-H volunteer process to complete.  Resources, training, and staff are available to help volunteers too.  Being involved in 4-H as a parent or volunteer is a great way to share quality time with your children and also help make a difference in the lives of other youth.

Families and volunteers interested in getting started with the Marshall County 4-H Program are encouraged to contact the ISU Extension – Marshall County Office at 515-752-1551, xmarshall@iastate.edu, visit us at 2608 S 2nd in Marshalltown or view www.extension.iastate.edu/marshall.  Extension programs are available to all without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, or disability.
