Kidtoberfest; a free, one-day event brings together youth-development and youth-service agencies from around the area. The event provides area families the opportunity to learn more about all of the area youth development resources available.
K*Fest is well-received by families in our community. In 2013, nearly 375 youth attended and were able to enjoy the entertainment, education, and resources. The event focused on youth ages 12 and under, and featured more than 40 educational booths staffed by area youth development and family service groups. The event connected agencies to youth and parents, provided information about services offered, and allowed participants the opportunity to enroll in programs and activities. Along with the informational booths, the event also featured entertainment and educational presentations by Karen Adams Ag in the Classroon, I.H.C.C. Robotics, Iowa Public Television Dan Wardell, balloon animals by Tom Gay, face painting, Dizzercise, and a magic show by Dizzy the Clown, Iowa State University’s Cy, inflatable games, hands-on activities, and youth development and safety activities.
