4-H Volunteers Needed!
Beef Carcass - Work with Extension staff to review rules for fair book. Work at Beef Weigh-in in December, assist with Live Evaluation of animals and assist at the locker for the locker evaluation. Possibly lead a Beef Carcass clinic.
Exhibit Hall - Assist other Superintendents with exhibit check-in, assist judges, and help with pick-up after judging is over.
State Fair Exhibits - Assist 4-H Staff with State Fair Selection during county fair, organize State Fair Exhibits Booth display, attend the State Fair Exhibitor's Meeting during the county fair, assist with labeling of State Fair exhibits prior to the State Fair and complete State Fair Exhibit Check-in and Check-out in Des Moines (travel will be reimbursed).
We are also looking for 4-H Volunteer Adult Leaders (must be 21 or older) for special interest clubs. If you have a project area that you are passionate about, you can turn it into a club! Each leader will be required to complete 1 Leader Training each year (can be done face to face or online). The time commitment must be at least 6 hours for the year and it is up to the volunteer if they would like to donate more time.
We are definitely in need of more First Lego League Coaches. The FLL Coaches will meet with members to teach them about Lego Mindstorm Robotix and prepare members for competitions. 4-H will provide opportunities for training on this specific curriculum.
We are also looking for a 4-H Teen Council Leader to work with our 4-H Teen Council members. Duties would include meeting coordination with officers, special events, county fair volunteer coordination, encouragement, etc.
All 4-H Adult Volunteer Leaders must pass a Child Protection and Safety Policy Background Screening and a DOT License Check in order to work with 4-H youth.
