Pasture Management Seminar - February 24th

Seminar topics include: Pre-grazing season management, planning (fertility, interseeding, etc.); Optimizing grazing season production; ISU data and Iowa experiences with extended grazing; What do I do when pastures are short? (drought years, etc.). Speakers will be Dr. Robert Kallenbach, University of Missouri Extension Specialist, and Joe Sellers, ISU Beef Program Specialist.

Central Area Lock-In for Senior 4-Her's

The SENIOR Lock-in is an event sponsored by the Polk County Council at the Altoona Campus in Altoona, IA. Admission is $10 and a canned food item, and there will be swimming, movies, and various tournaments throughout the evening.

Snow Camp

Madison County Extension and Madison County Conservation are teaming up to host Snow Camp, a day camp for youth in grades K-4th! Camp participants will explore the wonderful world of snow with fun indoor and outdoor activities, including winter-themed games, crafts, snacks and more!

H1N1 Flu

2009 H1N1 (referred to as “swine flu” early on) is a new influenza virus causing illness in people. This new virus was first detected in people in the United States in April 2009. This virus is spreading from person-to-person worldwide, probably in much the same way that regular seasonal influenza viruses spread. (Follow the link above for more information.)
