Lamb Carcass Quality Meetings
November 19, 2014

Sheep producers and agribusiness staff are invited to a meeting in Sheldon, Ia. on Tuesday, Dec. 9 about how to improve lamb carcass quality, resulting in better returns for the producer. The lamb meeting is cooperatively sponsored by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Northwest Iowa Sheep Producers, Iowa Sheep and Wool Promotion Board, and Premier 1. The meeting will be held at the Pizza Ranch and begins with a 6 p.m. dinner, followed by a short business meeting and presentations from various university sheep specialists. Emerald Borer Ash has been found in Iowa. The most recent infestation was documented in August 2014 in Story County. Story County is the 13th confirmed infestation in the state. The Emerald Ash Borer is expected to keep spreading through-out the State of Iowa... are communities prepared for this disease or any other potential diseases of the future?
