April 25, 2016

Registrations are currently being accepted for the second Lyon County Leadership 2016 program, which is designed to maximize the strengths and skills of current and future community leaders. The program will feature weekly lunch sessions, beginning Wednesday, May 25, and running through June 29. Registration forms can be picked up at the Lyon County Extension and Outreach Office. 

April 5, 2016

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach’s Lyon County Clover Kids will celebrate the program’s year-end with a water and natural resources themed event on May 21, 2016, 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Lyon County Fairgrounds in Rock Rapids. The Clover Kids year-end event will feature ISU-based Water Rocks and the Lyon County Conservation Board. Youth will discover Iowa’s natural resources and the importance of working together to protect the world around them.

Throughout the summer, Regional Food Coordinator and Horticulture Educator Margaret Murphy will be hosting a Garden to Table Series, with two vegetable-focused events in Rock Rapids and two herb-specific events in O'Brien County. Register for any or all of the events now!

Clippings now includes more diverse topics that go beyond horticulture, though horticulture will still be an occasional and timely topic. The column will remain focused on research-based information written by ISU Extension and Outreach program specialists.
