Iowa State University Extension staff members are approved to teach Planning to Stay Ahead a two hour course that satisfies the Bankruptcy Code for those seeking protection from their creditors. The class is required after an individual has completed financial counseling and has filed papers for bankruptcy. The course will cover budget development, money management tips, wise use of credit, and consumer information. The course fee is $20 per individual or household. An approved certificate of completion is issued at the end of the required course.
