JUNE 11-19, 2010
Come join senior 4-H members (grades 10-12) from Southeast Iowa on the Citizenship Washington Focus trip. You will spend nine days making new friends, seeing the sights of our nation’s capitol and working on legislation with delegates from across the US. The bus will leave on Friday, June 11th and return on Saturday, June 19th.
Some of the places you will visit include Gettysburg, Mount Vernon, the war and presidential memorials, and the Smithsonian museums. Delegates will spend an evening at the Kennedy Center and tour the Holocaust Museum. There will be an opportunity to visit the nation’s capitol and meet the people who represent Iowa. At the National 4-H Center, where we will be staying, delegates will hear motivational speakers, attend workshops and assemblies and make lasting friendships during the social events.
Cost of the trip is $1100 payable in 3 installments. An application and $100 non-refundable deposit is due December 1. The second payment will be $500 and is due February 1. The third and final payment will be $500 and is due April. The Louisa County 4-H Foundation helps to offset this cost by reimbursing $25 for every $100 of the trip fee. Note that the Louisa County 4-H Foundation contribution is a reimbursement so families will initially pay the full amount.
