ServSafe Food Safety Course offered by ISU Extension

ServSafe Food safety certification course offered in Cedar Rapids Iowa

Iowa State University Extension will be offering a one day certification course on food safety for food service managers in Cedar Rapids. ServSafe is a national certification program made available through the National Restaurant Association.  ServSafe is one of the industry’s strongest educational programs.  Certification is good for five years. 

 

Serv Safe classes wiill be held:
March 21, 2013, 8:30am to 5:30pm
May 14, 2013, 8:30am to 5:30pm
July 16, 2013, 8:30am to 5:30pm
September 10, 2013, 8:30am to 5:30pm
November, 2013, 8:30am to 5:30pm

at ISU Extension & Outreach Linn County

Course costs $135.00 ($100.00 for current Iowa Restaurant Association members) and is due to the Linn County Extension office 1 week prior to class.

The registration fee includes 8 hours of training, the Serv Safe Essentials manual, the exam and certification.  The course will be taught by Jill Weber, ISU Extension Nutrition and Health Program Specialist.  Download a brochure and registration form to register for the course, stop by the Linn County Extension office or call 319-377-9839. 

ISU Extension also offers a food safety course for food service workers.  Safe Food is a course that covers the topics of temperature control, sanitation, and personal hygiene.   This two hour course is presented as requested.  Cost is $35.00 per person.  Sessions are individually scheduled by contacting Jill Weber at (319) 240-1730 or jrweber@iastate.edu.
