Food Preservation 101 WORKSHOP
Wednesday, August 27, 2014 • 6:30 to 8:30 PM
Lowe Park A&E Building
This workshop will be led by Rachel Wall, ISU Extension and Outreach Nutrition and Health Program Specialist.The workshop will cover food preservation basics for canning, freezing and dehydrating, and provide participants an opportunity to practice valuable knife skills as they make fresh salsa.

Seed Saving WORKSHOP and Tomato Tasting

Master Gardener Shelby Foley will lead a hands-on-workshop in the methods for selecting, collecting and saving seeds.  At the end of the workshop, participants will be provided with maps of the Demonstration Gardens at Lowe Park, and containers for seeds they may want to save. Register for this workshop.
Tomato Tasting  4:15-6:00 PM (or when the tomatoes are gone)
Sample some 25 varieties of tomatoes!

Extending the Growing Season and How to Build a Hoop House WORKSHOP
Thursday, September 11, 2014 • 6:30 to 8:00 PM
at Lowe Park A&E Building and the Hoop House by the Lowe Park Greenhouse
Master Gardener Phil Pfister will lead this workshop which will discuss materials and building techniques for building a hoop house similar to the one by the Lowe Park Greenhouse.  The workshop will also include tips and techniques for extending the growing season with a hoop house.

Looking Ahead to the Holidays WORKSHOP
Saturday, October 18, 2014 • 10:00 AM to Noon
Just in time for the upcoming holidays, Master Gardener Shelby Foley will lead this hands-on-workshop at the Lowe Park Greenhouse.  Participants will create an ivy tree topiary centerpiece, with some added special touches.

Holiday Arrangements WORKSHOP

Lowe Park Greenhouse
This workshop will be led by Master Gardeners Shelby Foley and Phil Pfister.  In this workshop, participants will be able to create beautiful holiday arrangement from an assortment of dried plants and evergreens.
