Play & Learn
Play & Learn of East Central Iowa is an effective way to help caregivers learn more about child development, how children learn and what they can do at home to help the children in their care to grow and learn. Through Play & Learn of East Central Iowa, caregivers learn that they don’t need fancy toys or equipment or degrees in child development to make a positive difference. They can help children learn by supporting them, talking with them and providing them with time and attention and things at home that they can explore and play with. Play & Learn of East Central Iowa is an affiliate of Kaleidoscope Play & Learn.
Play and Learn of East Central Iowa is an organized play group for young children (0-5 years old) and the people who take care of them – their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, other family members and family friends.
You will have lots of FUN together:
• Telling Stories
• Creating Art

• Learning!
Groups are FREE, and occur every week with a different topic each week. No registration required. Join us at any Play & Learn location!
Each group has a facilitator that plans and sets up activities for the children and their caregivers to play together. Facilitators help caregivers learn more about child development, how children learn through play and what caregivers can do at home to help the children in their care grow and learn.
Why is Play & Learn of East Central Iowa important? The early years of life are crucial in setting the stage for later success in school and life. Children are born learning and it’s important for the people who take care of children to know that. It’s also important for them to know how they can support children’s learning and healthy development and what they’re doing has a life-long impact on the child.
