December 12, 2014

Commercial manure applicators should plan to attend the Commercial Manure Applicator training program scheduled for Jan. 6, 2015, from 9 a.m. to noon. Commercial manure applicators needing to recertify and those wanting to certify for the first time should attend.

October 17, 2014

Farmers and landowners will learn about the new programs authorized by the Farm Bill at an informational meeting conducted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and local USDA Farm Service Agency staff members on January 7 in Donnellson. Registration is required. RSVP to Lee County Extension, 319-835-5116, by January 5, 2015.

Lee County 4-H youth showed livestock and static exhibits during the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, August 8th through 18th. Congratulations to all those who showed and represented Lee County 4-H at the state level. Here are the Lee County results from the fair.

Darbee Wellman, Agriculturalist for ISU Extension and Outreach in Henry and Lee counties has been named the 2014 National Winner of the National Association of County Agricultural Agents Communication Award in the Audio Recording category. She was the only national communications winner selected from the state of Iowa for 2014.
