Iowa State University Extension and Outreach 4-H Youth Development Staff announce statewide trainings for all new 4-H Club Leaders. This training is targeted to those who are beginning as volunteers or those with three years or less experience.

Local county offices of ISU Extension and Outreach sponsor food safety certification courses for food service managers and employees. Upcoming sessions at Great Prairie AEA in Burlington are Thursday, October 15 and Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Each class runs from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm with the exam to follow.

The Lee County Leadership Program has accepted eight leadership trainees to the Class of 2016. These eight participants began their training on September 15. Lee County is the first county in Iowa to utilize this specific community-based approach to leadership development by piloting the program.
