owa State University Extension & Outreach will be holding training for adults interested in becoming a 4-H judge. Participants will learn from Iowa State University Extension 4-H staff as well as experienced 4-H judges about how to how to evaluate, educate and encourage youth at county fairs.

The beginning “High Tunnel 101” workshop is for current commercial fruit or vegetable growers and traditional farmers interested in diversifying their production.

Farmers talking to farmers and learning from each other will help Iowa ramp up water quality efforts and implement new management practices to carry out the state’s Nutrient Reduction Strategy. The goal is to reduce the nitrogen and phosphorus loads in water leaving farm lands.
