In the past couple of weeks a lot of corn and soybeans went into storage with temperatures in the 60s. With grain this warm, moisture migration within the grain mass and spoilage can occur very quickly, even with fairly dry grain. Ag Engineering Field Specialist Greg Brenneman explains when and how to cool the grain to prevent this.

The Lee County Leadership trainees wasted no time when meeting together for Session Two of the community based leadership program. The morning session focused on understanding community leadership and the communities within Lee County. The early afternoon found the leaders at the river for guided tours of the Amerin Power Plant, Lock 19 and the dam.
