Farmers and those who advise farmers about crops are invited to attend the annual spring field day for the Iowa State University Southeast Iowa Research Farm near Crawfordsville.

Pond owners from Lee and Henry counties enjoyed an evening ouside on June 3rd learning how to care for and maintain a healthy ecosystem for their pond wildlife, fish, and plants.  Allen Pattillo, Natural Resource Ecology and Management Extension Program Specialist answered questions and discussed common issues at a local pond in Henry County.  Click here to see pictures from the evening.

When the power goes out, as it did on May 30th for many citizens in Lee County, home refrigerators and freezers need special attention to prevent food spoilage. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has resources available with steps to take when the fridge and freezer stop working for more than a couple of hours in a power outage.
