Keokuk County Extension is partnering with Alliant Energy to provide the Operation Releaf program in Keokuk County. Alliant Energy customers may order up to 2 trees per household through the program for $25.00 per tree. A limited number of trees are available. Trees must be picked up at the Keokuk County Expo grounds on May 23, 2013. For more information please contact the Keokuk County Extension Office at 641-622-2680. Iowa State University Extension & Outreach in Keokuk County has moved to its new office located on the Expo Fairgrounds on the east edge of Sigourney.

The Keokuk Master Gardeners have published a Wild Flower book. There are 28 wild flowers in this book, with descriptions of the flowers, where to find them and when they will bloom. This book is a way to get youth interested in outdoor activities, horticulture and wild flowers. There is a scavenger hunt with scoring for finding the flowers in the book.

Mushroom hunters who would like to legally sell morel mushrooms in Iowa need to complete a morel mushroom certification workshop. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering the workshop at several Iowa locations in March and April.
