4-H Youth Hold Ricochet Celebrations

Students at Sigourney and Tri-County schools celebrated the completion of their 9 week 4-H Ricochet program by planning a celebration, inviting members from their school and communities to showcase what they have learned through the Ricochet program.

Ricochet is a program specifically designed for middle school aged students to grow in leadership skills. Through the hands on, high energy program, the students learn about leadership attitude, communication, decision-making and stress management.

"At the end of the Ricochet program, I was invited to their celebration.  It was amazing to hear students talk about leadership and what they took away from the program."  Commented Tri-County Principal, Sandy Steinke.

Shannon Webb, Sigourney Jr.Sr. High school principal commented, “Ricochet is a great opportunity for 7th grade students to build their leadership skills and work on developing strong relationships with their peers.  Ricochet has been a huge success and a very rewarding program for our Jr. High students.”
Ricochet is led by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach – Keokuk County 4-H staff and is made possible due to generous grant support of the Keokuk County Community Endowment.
