Open House June 9 at Keokuk County Extension

An open house will be held Sunday, June 9, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the new Keokuk County Extension office.  The office is located at 400 220th Avenue, Suite A, on the Keokuk County Expo Grounds.

Alliant Energy customers are eligible to purchase trees for $25.00 each (average retail cost per tree is $65.00 with the remaining cost funded through a grant from Alliant Energy).

Keokuk County Extension Office Has Moved

Iowa State University Extension & Outreach in Keokuk County has moved to its new office located on the Expo Fairgrounds on the east edge of Sigourney.

Wild Flower book developed by Keokuk County Master Gardeners
March 11, 2013

The Keokuk Master Gardeners have published a Wild Flower book. There are 28 wild flowers in this book, with descriptions of the flowers, where to find them and when they will bloom. This book is a way to get youth interested in outdoor activities, horticulture and wild flowers. There is a scavenger hunt with scoring for finding the flowers in the book. 

Practical Farmers of Iowa and Iowa Learning Farms Co-Host Cover Crop Field Days
March 4, 2013

Practical Farmers of Iowa joins with Iowa Learning Farms to have farmers showcase their experiences with cover crops this spring at eight field days across Iowa. County Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners and Eastern Iowa Hay Producers Association are helping to sponsor the spring field days that focus on the use and management of cover crops.  Click here for dates, times, and details.
