Emerald Ash Borer

Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) has been positively identified in the Iowa community of Hedrick in Keokuk County. EAB kills all ash tree species and is considered to be one of the most destructive tree pests ever seen in North America.

Average Iowa farmland value is estimated to be $8,716 per acre, an increase of 5.1 percent from 2012, according to results of the Iowa Land Value Survey conducted in November. Values increased in 2013 for the fourth year in a row and achieved historic peaks.

4-H Project

The Keokuk County Youth Council, along with the Keokuk County Extension Staff held a Family Fun Awards Night on Saturday, November 23, at the Keokuk County Expo Fairgrounds.  The event was held to recognize 4-H’ers and 4-H leaders for their hard work throughout the year, as well as their years of service.
