Jackson Wise Owls

Meets Last Sunday of each month

Location: Farm Bureau Building Basement, Anamosa

Leaders: Tami Moore, Jacki Luckstead, Connie Buck

Club Size: 25 members

Special Interests: Our club represents a very wide variety of project areas with 25 members.

Special Events/Family activities: Officer initiation/new member initiation/potluck, Christmas Party

Community Service Projects: HACAP food items donated each month, caroling & deliver Christmas boxes to shut-ins, clean up fairgrounds & football field

Other interesting facts about your club: We have an even mix of boys & girls, all ages and find a new and interesting activity to do with the 4H members every year.

 

 

Prairie Hill

Meets: 2nd Wednesday each month

Location: American Legion Hall-Monticello

Leaders: Mary Hogan, Shelly Monck, Becky Stahlberg

Club Size: 35 members

Special Events/Family Activities: Christmas Bowling, Camp Out

Community Service Project: Riverside Gardens, food for food pantry, caroling at Senior Housing

 

 

Fairview Thunderbolts

Meets: 1st Monday of each month

Location: Extension Office, Anamosa

Leaders: Jeri and Mike Hartl, Tiffany Day, Barb and Jim Cooper and Jim Lenger

Club size: 28 members

Special events/family activities: Club Camp out, family potluck/installation of officers

Community service projects: Morley Soup supper, Care baskets for care centers, Make a Difference Day

Location: SE Linn Community Center, Lisbon

Special Interests: beef, swine, clothing, cooking

Special events/family activities: Annual fall chili supper @ Boggs to kick off another new year of 4H

Community Service Projects: making Halloween treat bags for elderly, Working at Lisbon Sauerkraut Days

 

Oxford Livewires

Meets:1st Sunday of each month

Location: Oxford Junction Senior Center

Leaders: Jim and Lola Lasack

Club size: 21 Members

Special interests: Beef, Horticulture, Shooting sports, Any livestock-rabbits, dogs, swine

Special events/family activities:Potlucks, December Christmas party, club-tour-potluck, Bowling party, Scavenger hunt, Swim party, guest speakers

Community service project: Raking leaves, painting tables/buildings at the park, planting flower pots for Senior Center

Other interesting facts: We help with foodstands @ sales. Our members seem to help each other out if any questions. We have taken short trips to amusement parks.

 

 

Olin Ship A’Hoy/Hawkeyes

Meets:1st Sunday each month

Location: Olin Legion Hall

Club size: 27 members

Special interests: beef, poultry, sewing, woodworking, Food & Nutrition, Photography

Special events/family activities: club tour, end of year swimming/potluck

Community service project: Road ditch clean up every spring/fall

Annual Lions club/Olin Jamboree Pancake breakfast

 

Oxford Happy Hustlers

Meets: 1st Sunday of each month

Location: Lutheran Church, Oxford Junction

Leader: Connie Burhop, Jamie Slouha, Jackie Duwa

Club size: Small 9-10 now, has been up to 40

Special interests: Mostly girls-3 year rotation of food & nutrition, clothing, or home improvement but members take all projects-livestock, photography, citizenship, etc.

Special events/family activities: Potlucks with Oxford Livewires-October & December. Club tour to special interest places

Community Service projects: Raking leaves, making Christmas stockings, Easter baskets, valentines to hospitals, cookie plates to elderly---lots.

Other interesting facts: In 2006, the 5 members had 6 state fair entries + 1 state fair clothing event entry, and 1 state fair communications entry. Girls are very active.

 

Wyoming Pioneers

Meets: 1st Sunday of each month

Location: Memorial Hall, Wyoming

Leaders: Cindy Dirks, Jade Eichorn, Val Wherry, Phyllis Huston

Club size: 20 members

Special interests: swine & beef

Special events/family activities: Christmas potluck in December. Club tour in June.

Community service projects: Raking leaves for Make a Difference Day, Help with Christmas celebration, Help with fish fry, help putting up Christmas lights for the city

Other interesting facts: We have a pop stand at the Wyoming fair every year.

 

Scotch Grove Challengers

Meets: 1st Sunday of each month

Location: Monticello Community Building

Leaders: Tracy Zirkelbach, Dennis Dirks, Tim Fellinger and Sally Hinrichsen

Club size: 35 members

Special events/family activities: September family camp out

Community Service Projects: Make a Difference Day

 

Richland R & R

Meets: 2nd Monday of each month

Location: Eastside Gym, Cascade

Leaders: LuAnn Manternach, Sheila Beringer

Club size: 48 members

Special interests: Basketball, volleyball, and all livestock

Special events/family activities: Christmas bowling party, September potluck

Community service projects: Raking leaves for elderly, Food pantry donations

 

Morley M&M’s

Meets: 2nd Monday of each month

Location: Rotating members homes

Leaders: Kathy Langenberg, Verlyn Stolte

Club size: 12 members

Special interests: horses & dog

Special events/family activities: Leader/parent appreciation cook out/camp out, done in August after fair. Members prepare and cook and serve adults. Christmas party sleepover/swimming

Community service projects: donate to HACAP, Help with Morley soup supper, Pets to care center, Make Christmas crafts with care center residents

Other interesting facts: Currently the club is all girls from 3 different counties.

Changed name from Morley Merry Maids to Morley M & M’s when we had boys join(members brothers).

1 current leader is +25 years as a leader.

 

Lovell Lions

Meets: 1st Sunday of the month

Location: United Church of Christ, Monticello

Leaders: Kelly Luckstead, Kim Smith

Club size: 11 members

Special interests: Swine, shooting sports, dairy, visual arts, photography

Special events/family activities: Family potluck in November, Christmas party in December

Community service projects: Food pantry, donated supplies to Camp Courageous

Other interesting facts: very young members, mostly boys

Meets: 1st Sunday of each month

Club size: 12 members

Special interests: poultry, horse, vegetables, volleyball, basketball

Special events/family activities: Christmas party, club tour, Halloween party

Community service projects: Betterment clean-up day, Valentines for Vets(KHAK), Christmas card for elderly, Cookie appreciation plates

 

 

East Greenfield

Meets: 1st Sunday of each month

Location: Martelle Fire Station
