Hawkeye CWMA Invasive Species Field Day - FREE field day for anyone wanting to learn about invasive species or how to manage invasive species. Lunch will be provided to registered participants. Call 319-645-1011 to register.

Aronia is a woody perennial shrub native to the eastern United States. This hardy Zone 3 plant can be found in wet woods and swamps. Better known as black chokeberry, the aronia berry is not among the fruits approved for making jams or jellies under the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations and cannot be sold without validation that the recipe meets the standard of identity for fruit preserves, jams or jellies.

  • Jones County Extension and Outreach and the Jones County Conservation board are offering "Outdoor Wondercation"
  • 4th - 12th grade youth
  • "Canoeing Adventure"- MonMaq to Pictured Rocks or Central Park depending on river level - 6th grade and up- Date TBD, 2015
  • Snack provided. Pre-registration is required for each program. $10.00 materials fee for each program. The fee for service will be used to offset direct expenses and to support the 4-H Youth Development Extension Program.
