Jones County Extension and Outreach and the Jones County Conservation board are offering "Outdoor Wondercation" to  kids in 4th grade through 12th grade in Jones County.  Programs begin in January with Winter Survival and Snowshoeing and continue through June with a Canoeing Adventure. Pre-registration is required for each program. Space is limited. There is a $10.00 registration fee for each program offered. Call the Jones County Extension office to reserve your spot at 319-465-3224.

"Juntos: Together for a Better Education" is a 6-session course that helps Latino families create educational goals and explore options for higher education.  The course will take place at Cascade High School starting October 5th. Each class includes a meal, childcare for younger siblings, and family-centered activities for 7th, 8th, 9th, or 10th grade students and their parents.  This program is free for all participants.

Master Gardeners are a dedicated group of trained volunteers willing to share their horticulture knowledge, a love of gardening, an enthusiasm for learning, and a commitment to helping others. Jones county residents interested in becoming a Master Gardener; please contact the Jones County Extension office at 319-465-3224 for an application. Applications are due Friday, August 29th by 4 pm for the fall training classes.
