Aronia is a woody perennial shrub native to the eastern United States. This hardy Zone 3 plant can be found in wet woods and swamps. Better known as black chokeberry, the aronia berry is not among the fruits approved for making jams or jellies under the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations and cannot be sold without validation that the recipe meets the standard of identity for fruit preserves, jams or jellies.

We are so pleased that you would like to be a part of the 16th Annual Great Jones County Fair Queen Contest. Our goal is for you to learn life lessons, make new friends, be creative, confident, original and most of all - have a great time. Applications are available (see link) or pick up a copy at the fair office. Deadline is June 8th.

Iowa State University Extension & Outreach - Jones County is offering Summer Science Discovery Camp for kids in grades K-5. This year's theme "A World in Motion" .  Cost is $30 per camper. Registration deadline is May 15th, 2015.
