Jones County Extension is seeking temporary summer positions. The staff will conduct educational activities for youth in communities of Jones County and assist with summer operations of the Jones County Extension Office.

Jones County Extension and Outreach will host an informational meeting concerning the presence of Emerald Ash Borer, an exotic, destructive insect of ash trees which is spreading in Iowa.

Pressure canners with a dial-type gauge should be tested each year for accuracy. Rachel Wall, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Nutrition and Health Specialist, will be offering testing of dial gauge pressure canners. To have a dial gauge canner tested, bring the canner lid only - the entire canner is not needed.

Summer Discovery Camp registration forms have been distributed to all schools within Jones County. Registration fee is $30 per child and the deadline is Friday, May 16th, 2014. Space is limited. If you have questions, please call the Jones County Extension office at 319-465-3224 and ask for Monica or Kim.
