4-H Youth Development empowers children and youth to reach their full potential by working and learning in partnership with caring adults. 4-H provides opportunities to young people to become competent, caring, contributing, confident and connected citizens with character. 
4-H also offers youth camps, trips and scholarships for it's members.

Join a Jefferson County 4-H or Clover Kid Club

  • Enroll in 4-H, either online or by filling out the necessary paperwork:

    • If you are ready to enroll online, click here.
    • If you know someone that would like to enroll, but they do not have internet access, click here.
  • Submit enrollment fee payment to the club in which you join

    • 4-H enrollment fee for 2015-2016 is $10 per member; however, some clubs choose to pay the $10 for the member.

The Teen Council will be made up of dedicated members from across the county that strive to make the best better for 4-H'ers and their families in Jefferson County. Be sure to read the Teen Council Guidelines, then fill out the application and return by 4:30PM on Monday, September 12th to the Extension Office or via e-mail at coop_rachelw@iastate.edu. NO late applications will be reviewed. Accepted applicants will be notified by Wednesday, September 14th and our first meeting will be on Sunday, September 18th at 2PM at the Extension Office. NOTE: If you've been on Teen Council in the past, you DO need to reapply. Questions? Brown Bag Lunch Workshop, Sustainable Living Center, Room 18 at the MUM, 1000 N. 4th Street, Fairfield. Benefits and challenges of collecting, storing and using rainwater at home, at a business and on the farm. Learning the components of rain collection and storage system. Creating a rain garden to manage rain runoff, and tour the water catchment system at the Sustainable Living Center.
