Want to make sure your child is eating nutritious lunches at school?  Here are some tips to keep your child healthy and happy!

Beef Blast at Iowa State

The Department of Animal Science is hosting Beef Blast on December 3, 2016.  This event is open to any youth in grades 7-12 and will focus on reproduction.  Youth will be able to dissect reproductive tracts, design rations to optimize reproductive performance, conduct a breeding soundness exam by collecting and analyzing semen and practice selecting outstanding females based on genetics.  The cost for this event is $40.00 and includes lunch and all materials.  Adults are welcome to attend and will need to pay $12.00 for lunch.  The event will be held at the Hansen Animal Learning Center on Mortenson Road in Ames.     Every June, 1000 teenagers converge on the Iowa State University campus for 3 days of speakers, workshops, mixers, dances, a banquet, and community service activities. If you've completed 8th-12th grade, you're eligible to attend. Non-4-H members are welcome.

  • Provides opportunities for youth to demonstrate, learn and apply project and communication skills. Every year the 4-H Exhibits Building features well over 3,000 exhibits and Livestock shows engage more than ## youth.
