Videoconferencing Information

One of the capabilities of the new network is to enable videoconferencing. Using Windows Messenger (see the information on Instant Messaging), a desktop video camera and a headset, the new statewide network provides a powerful collaboration and productivity tool.

In addtion to the cameras below, you can also opt to use a headset/microphone combination instead of the built-in microphone on the camera and your speakers. This will eliminate the "echo" effect that sometimes occurs during video chats. Note that the headset is NOT REQUIRED, it is simply another option. However, using a headset will cut down on interference from background noise, so if you work in a busy office you will want to consider purchasing one.
