Windows Vista is Microsoft's latest desktop operating system, released in November, 2006. Vista is the successor to Windows XP, which was released in October, 2001.
All new computers for Extension staff will run Windows Vista unless there is a specific reason not to do so. If you have purchased a new computer and want to perform the setup yourself, or if you would like to upgrade a computer to Windows Vista, please review the information below.
- If upgrading, review the Vista hardware requirements.
- Review the software compatibility list to determine if your applications will work with Vista.
- Follow the installation instructions.
- Optionally install a printer.
