Content Management Web Pages

ISU Extension is using the Microsoft Content Management System (CMS) to manage content on many of the web sites including the county sites, Extension News, Extension homepage and many more.

Using MS PowerPoint Photo Album and Adobe Acrobat to publish photos to the CMS pages.

Many counties want to publish to their web site photos of local events, such as County Fair.  The current CMS system does not have an excellent photo gallery option. Creating a Photo Album in PowerPoint and then using Adobe Acrobat to PDF the photo album allows for up to 40 photos to be published to the CMS page (staying under the 5mg upload limit) and still allow clients to look and print the photos.  You will need both MS PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat (to create the PDF) to use this options. Instructions for both MSOffice 2003 and 2007 are available.

County CMS Training

Hands-on training for the County CMS Web Page system is held several times a year on the ISU Campus in the EIT computer lab.  Announcements are sent out to county and area staff when a date is scheduled.  If you have any questions please contact Jeanne Wiebke (jwiebke@iastate.edu)
