ICEC History
- 1953: Conservation Education Association formed nationally (via Izaak Walton League)
- 1958: ICEC incorporated (consortium of 40 different agencies/institutions)
- 1. stimulate cooperation among individuals and agencies interested in CE
- 2. assist schools with CE
- 3. development of CE materials
- 4. stimulate development of CE in Iowa
- 1968: ICEC reincorporated, allowed voting membership
- 1969: First newsletter
- 1982: Reincorporated, allowed board to be made up of all members
- 1991: Reincorporated, average about 400 members
- 2007: Reincorporated, name changed to Iowa Conservation Education Coalition, bylaws revised
- Present: ready to reinvent ourselves again
