Executive Committee Nominations
The Executive Committee (ExCom) is the governing branch of ICEC. The ExCom sets policies, makes the major decisions, and oversees the hiring of contracted workers for the Administrative Coordinator, the Treasurer, and the Newsletter Editor. The number of ExCom members varies slightly, but must be between 7 and 14 members.
ExCom members are elected by the generally membership at the end of each year. Each ExCom member serves a three-year term (with no one serving more than six consecutive years). On occasion the ExCom may decide to appoint someone as an ExCom member, but cannot appoint more than half the total of the ExCom itself.
ExCom members are expected to play an active role in the organization. The ExCom itself meets approximately six times per year. Meetings may be in person or over the ICN network. ExCom members must attend the majority of these meetings and be an active voice for the membership.
ExCom members may also be expected to facilitate ICEC projects, serve on other committees, and provide feedback to the ExCom. Positions on the ExCom include:
- Chairperson or Co-Chairs: This person oversees the ExCom meetings and the Annual Meeting at Winter Solstice. The Chair is elected by the ExCom and must have been a Vice-Chair the previous year.
- Vice-Chairs: Three ExCom members serve as Vice-Chairs.
- Secretary: This person keeps the records of all ExCom meetings, the Annual meeting, and any other special meetings.
- Historian: This person keeps track of all records.
If you are interested in serving on the Executive Committee, please contact the current Chair/s.
