Beginning in February 2001, on the recommendations of several sources, the purpose of SEEC will be to improve environmental education in Iowa for all citizens through formal planning, cooperation, communication and partnering among state agencies.

•  Development of a clear, concise and attainable comprehensive vision for environmental education in Iowa
• Improved efficiency and efficacy of State financial and staff resources
• Coordination and collaboration of State agencies and resources to attain the vision while eliminating duplication and maximizing synergies
• Improved communication of environmental education activities within the various State agencies.
