Discover Iowa's natural resources

Achievee is a group of 16 Iowa organizations that offer resources, lesson plans, field trips and other information about conservation issues to K-12 educators. Combined, these organizations provide more than 35 programs and services that are student-centered, easy to adapt and promote collaborative learning. Many of the programs and services are interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary, and include reading components.

Achievee has developed a directory with contact information for its various programs, ranging from local and county contacts, to grant opportunities, to staff development. Click here for a copy of Achievee's directory of resources, titled, "Discover the possibilities."

Achievee's work is made possible through the support of the Resource Enhancement and Protection Conservation Education Program.

The Bird Trunks Have Migrated!

The REAP-CEP, Iowa Ornithologists Union, Iowa Conservation Education Council, and Iowa Department of Natural Resources sponsored Migratory Bird Learning Trunks have new locations! Due to a use survey the trunks have been relocated to make them more accessible for all educators.

These trunks contain items needed to do many of the activities in Solve the Crime: Save the Song of Spring, an activity guide about Neotropical migratory birds and their Midwest connections. Besides the activity guide, there are many sources of background information on migratory birds, plus children's books, puppets, videos, a CD-rom bird guide, felt story board and MORE!

Find the trunk location nearest you and help your students investigate the crime and save the song of spring!! CLICK HERE to see list of locations.
