ILF Conservationists
The Iowa Learning Farm project is utilizing strong farmer and non-farmer conservationists as spokespersons around the state. These select people are opinion leaders and positive role models who practice, understand and promote a renewed commitment to a Culture of Conservation.
The ILF Conservationists will be involved with the project in different ways. They could present a program at their local service organization meeting; write editorials for local or regional newspapers; host a field day on their farm; or speak to students at an FFA or 4-H meeting--the possibilities are great. ILF Conservationists will deliver peer messages from their own experiences as well as from science-based information through the ILF project, Iowa State University and other research institutions.
It is our hope that their positive peer messages will be an effective method to bring about a renewed commitment to this Culture of Conservation. Innovative conservationists seeking better answers, attempting new and improved practices, and sharing the results will drive this project of change.
