The field day will begin at 3:00, program begins at 3:45 p.m. and conclude by 7:30 p.m. A complimentary evening meal will be provided, courtesy of Webster County Farm Bureau and Farm News. The event will feature information about the practice of strip-tillage, including auto-steer technology, economics, and the benefits of improved soil quality. Iowa Learning Farm Soil Conservation and Water Quality Event - July 29, 2008

The evening will include a complimentary meal with a program to follow for NRCS District Conservationists and SWCD commissioners. Iowa Learning Farm Field Day - July 10, 2008
Tom Wagner farm, O'Brien County, 5:30 p.m.
The Iowa Learning Farm is hosting a field day at the Tom Wagner farmstead, rural Primghar, Iowa. The field day will be Thursday, July 10, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend. A complimentary dinner will be served. The farm is three miles east of Primghar on county road B-40, then 3.25 miles south on county road L-54 (Taft Avenue). An RSVP to the O’Brien County ISU Extension office is recommended, 712/957-5045.
Tom Wagner, an Iowa Learning Farm conservationist, will share his thoughts for those who are considering trying strip-tillage for the first time. He and Iowa State University Extension Agricultural Engineer Mark Hanna will discuss strip-till equipment issues. ISU Extension Water Quality Engineer Matt Helmers will demonstrate the ILF conservation systems rainfall simulator. Also on the agenda is Dave Nelson, an ILF farmer-cooperator who, with his father Gary, leases row-crop acres at the Smeltzer Trust Demonstration Farm in Webster County.

AMES, Iowa –The Iowa Learning Farm is hosting a field day on the Doug Nolte farm, rural West Liberty. The field day will be held on Wednesday, June 11, from 6-8:30 p.m. A complimentary dinner will be served and the public is invited to attend. The field day location is approximately 4.8 miles west of West Liberty on Highway 6.
Iowa Learning Farm cooperator Doug Nolte will be talking about adopting strip-tillage on his farm and will offer a walking tour of some of his strip-tilled continuous corn acres. Other items will include discussion on the equipment and economics of strip-tillage.
