To obtain a copy of all rules and guidelines Please call Susan at the Extension Office. Here is a highlight of the rules.
1. Calves must be steers or heifers born between Jan 1 and April 30, 2009, and must be in the exhibitor’s ownership, possession and care within 2 weeks of birth. No bulls allowed. Calves need to be castrated by May 15th.
2. All calves must be indemnified by a 4-H ear tag in the right ear. All calves (beef and dairy) must be identified on a Market Beef Identification Form and on a Livestock Entry Form by May 15th in the Extension Office.
3. Calves must be bucket or bottle fed (no nursing permitted.
4. Calves will be shown at halter.
5. Judging will be based on fitting and showing, condition and management of the calf, what the exhibitor has learned.
