Manure applicator certification workshops for dry manure operators are planned for seven different dates and locations in February. These workshops meet manure applicator certification requirements for both confinement site manure applicators and commercial manure applicators who primarily apply dry or solid manure.

2012 Commercial Manure Applicator Training Scheduled for Ida County

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources will conduct Commercial Manure Applicator training from 9 a.m. to noon at 76 locations in Iowa, and four locations in surrounding states. Commercial manure applicators can meet commercial manure applicator certification requirements by attending.

The COOL (Country of Origin Labeling) law was put into effect on September 30, 2008. This now includes beef, meat goat, poultry, sheep, and swine for 4-H'ers.
