County-delivered Programs

Human Sciences Extension and Outreach staff have developed the following programs and resources for use by county Extension and Outreach staff members. These programs are appropriate for a wide variety of audiences, such as church groups or philanthropic groups requesting presentations about extension activities or general interest topics.

Programs include a blend of nutrition and health, family life and parenting, and family finance topics.

Family Finance

Financial Security: Special Issues for Women OR Financial Security: Stay Informed

Quiz-based lesson delivered by county staff or volunteers to increase awareness of financial issues faced by women.

Nutrition and Health

Spend Smart. Eat Smart.

Useful for many audiences from service clubs to workshops—anywhere families are struggling to make ends meet. The theme of the program is “Good nutrition does not have to be expensive.” Participants will learn strategies to save money on food expenses and incorporate new ideas into menu planning and food shopping while exploring the Spend Smart. Eat Smart. website.

SafeFood© for Groups (Concession Workers and 4-Hers at Food Stands)

A program appropriate for any audience providing or selling food to consumer groups. Participants will learn the importance of and be able to practice safe food handling practices at the end of the program. Make sure your community event is not the cause of food poisoning outbreak!

Early Learning Workshops
