Overtime Hours
Hourly employees are paid at the rate of one and one-half times
their regular hourly pay for all time worked in excess of 40
hours in any one workweek or offered the same in compensatory
time.
Compensatory time in lieu of pay is at one and one-half times
the number of hours worked over 40 hours. Written record of
hours worked and compensatory time earned need to be kept.
The CEED must approve any overtime prior to scheduled work.
Failure to do so can result in disciplinary action.
All attempts should be made to use compensatory time during
the month accrued. But if it is not used by the end of May,
it will be paid in employee's June check. No compensatory time
may be carried forward to a new fiscal year.
Important: Compensatory time may be offered by the employer,
but the Employee has the right to deny it and receive pay. It
is important that this determination is made prior to the work
being performed.
