Chapter Ten: Paid Holidays

 

Paid Holidays

The District follows the holidays set by Iowa State University. Those holidays are granted as paid holidays to all employees. They are:

  • New Years Day
  • Martin Luther King Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Friday after Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
  • And one other day designated by the University

When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the Friday preceding will be declared the holiday. When the holiday falls on a Sunday, the Monday following will be declared the holiday.

Note: Employees receive holiday pay for scheduled hours of work on the holiday. An employee should be in pay status the day before and the day following a Holiday.
