Hiring Procedures
A job announcement is published in at least one newspaper for
a minimum of one week. The Iowa
Work Force Development Office is notified.
A standardized form is used for accepting job applications.
(A sample application to look at would be ISU's
Merit Position Application.)
Basic skills testing may be done to determine if the applicant
has the required job skills. The Iowa
Work Force Development Office can do testing.
The CEED and Council representatives, if desired, select and
interview applicants. Review
questions not to ask applicants.
The CEED presents the most qualified applicant to the council
for approval.
Child Protection and Safety Policy - All staff hired
in the county that are involved with Youth and 4-H will have
a background check conducted in cooperation with the Iowa Department
of Criminal Investigation (DCI). Review
the procedures for conducting a Non-Law Enforcement Record Check.
