County Extension Education Director I Is recognized as a community leader who brings the knowledge base of Iowa State University to bear on any need a Community might have. Cooperates and informs the county staff, County Councils, Field Specialists, AEED, and Program Director of county projects and has a positive working relationship with staff and clients in county. Uses standard policies and procedures regarding county business operations and council relations. Develops and maintains efficient and responsive county office and is viewed as ISU's local representative within the county. Maximizes current monetary and human resources. Provides supervision of county staff. Supports volunteer networks. Council and staff demonstrate programming responsibilities relevant to civil rights goals. Responds to programming and information using routine sources and materials, matching relevant information and programs with audience needs. Participates in needs assessment activities. Evaluates one major county-lead program effort per year. Completes system reports when due. Works with others to help secure resources (volunteers, contracts, grants, and donations) to support identified needs at county level. Appropriately administers the resources. Functions as an effective educator, education facilitator, and community leader. Provides subject matter support to local and area networks and coalitions to build community capacity (brings added value to audiences with programs in all areas: Agriculture and Natural Resources, Business & Industry, Communities, Continuing Education, Families, and 4-H Youth Development). Offers comprehensive and complex programming to support long-term change, matching relevant information and programs with audience needs. Conducts needs assessment activities. Evaluates one major program effort per year. Completes all system reports when due. Secures resources (volunteers, contracts, grants, and donations) to support identified needs at county and area level. Appropriately administers the resources. Functions as an effective educator, education facilitator, and community leader using innovative and creative approaches. Uses standard policies and procedures regarding county business operations and council relations. Involved in system policy and procedure development. Develops and maintains efficient and responsive county office and is viewed as ISU's local representative within the county. Maximizes current monetary and human resources. Provides entrepreneurial leadership at local and area level to expand programming and impact. Provides supervision of county staff and initiates strategies for their professional development. Supports and initiates strategies to develop volunteer networks. Council and staff demonstrate programming responsibilities relevant to civil rights goals. Offers comprehensive and complex programming to support long-term change, drawing from research base. Initiates interdisciplinary programming. Conducts and analyzes needs assessments. Provides leadership for area and state projects. May be involved in multi-state and/or national partnerships. Evaluates one major program effort per year. Completes all system reports when due. Influences future local, area, and state program direction. Secures resources (volunteers, contracts, grants, and donations) to support identified needs at county and area level.
