State Fair Clothing 2008

Howard County 4-H held the 2008 "Ignite the Flame" Spring Fair on Saturday, April 5 at the NICC Cresco Center. Over 130 educational presentations, working exhibits, clothing selection, fashion revue, clothing challenge, quilt blocks and share the fun acts were presented for judging. Those youth advancing to the Iowa State Fair and Cattle Congress are as follows:

 QUILT BLOCK CHALLENGE

 Twenty youth sewed a quilt block in the Rail Fence pattern for Spring Fair judging. All twenty quilt squares will be collected for the completion of a 4-H Rail Fence quilt. This quilt will be raffled off at the 2008 Mighty Howard County Fair. Proceeds from the quilt will be used to support educational programs for 4-H’ers in the upcoming year.  Quilt Block Challenge participants were Abby Dunn, Sarah Goetsch, Marisa Trautsch, Megan Wilkes, Brianna Lipa, Christofer Lipa, Tracy Hageman, Bethany Tupy, Maddi Friedrich, Ashley Haw, Elizabeth Prochaska, Kelsey Stika, Shane Trautsch, Alissa Hageman, Jenny Tupy, Megan Neuzil, Brittany Daley, Victoria Prochaska, Kiersta Walton and Ava Spieker.
