Howard County 4-H Prepares First Edition Cookbook
The Howard County 4-H program’s 4-H & Youth Committee along with members of the Alumni Committee are preparing to publish the first ever Howard County 4-H Cookbook. The committee is working to preserve family favorites and past State Fair project recipes in this first edition cookbook.
The ingredients of a successful cookbook require your recipes. The committee is looking for recipes from current 4-H members, volunteers and families as well as Howard County 4-H alumni, past members of the 4-H and youth committee, past volunteers and any 4-H alumni from other counties or states that are now live or work in Howard County (women and men). Please gather and submit a couple of your favorite recipes, one recipe to a recipe form. If possible, submit your recipes in different food categories. We will have a special category that will feature any past recipes that were projects taken to the State Fair or considered for State Fair (please specify State Fair or considered for State Fair).
Recipe forms are available at the Howard County Extension Office or on the Howard County Extension webpage, under Howard County 4-H and Youth. The deadline to submit recipes is January 10, 2013. The committee hopes to have books available for sale at the 2013 Mighty Howard County Fair. All proceeds from sale of this first edition cookbook will be used to offer opportunities and enhance the Howard County 4-H program.
The Howard County 4-H program is open to any fourth through 12th graders without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex or disability. The program strives to provide opportunities for youth to develop leadership, citizenship and life skills in areas interesting to them.
