4-H Clover Kids is an exciting 4-H program for youth in grades kindergarten through 3rd grade. Howard County currently has two adventure clubs in Cresco and Riceville. Leading Cresco Clover Kids are 4-H volunteers Jeff Meinecke, Lisa Frohn and Vicki Reinhart. Youth helpers include Whitney Bohr, Emilyn Frohn, Cole Stika, Skye Meinecke, George Laub and Josh Stika.
Our goal is to promote positive youth development through cooperative learning and developmentally appropriate activities. Children participating in the Clover Kids program will meet new friends, learn and practice skills, gain self-confidence in a non-competitive environment, master physical skills through hands on experiential learning and have fun!
On October 17th Clover Kids learned more about their hearts through three learning stations. Go Foods, Slow Foods & Whoa Foods described the kinds of foods our heart and body needs, Heart Smart concentrated on the heart muscle, heart rates and the need for 60 minutes of physical activity per day and finally youth created oatmeal clay at the project table.
