RIBBON AUCTION GROSSES $18,770
The 4-H and FFA ribbon auction at the 2007 Mighty Howard County Fair grossed $18,770 for the county youth this year. The average was $129.45 for 145 ribbons sold. This is compared to 2006 where there were 134 ribbons sold for an average of $126.12.
There were 45 buyers. The highest ribbon bids were as follows:
Myranda Bartels Rabbit Ribbon sold for $125 purchased by Wacha Insurance.
Andie Vsetecka Horse Ribbon sold for $400 purchased by Greenfield Ag.
Shay Peckham’s Beef ribbon sold for $425 purchased by Fenco.
Jason Malven’s Dairy ribbon sold for $400 purchased by George Malven.
Christina Weinacht’s rabbit ribbon sold for $230 purchased by RES Concrete.
Jonathan Gardner’s Goat ribbon sold for $120 purchased by Max Schmidt.
Kate Grover’s Sheep ribbon sold for $185 purchased by Howard County Cattlemen.
Samantha Grover’s Swine ribbon sold for $325 and was purchased by Pioneer Seed.

A 15% commission of $2815.50 goes to general funds of 4-H and FFA in the county for youth activities and fair auction expenses.
