AREA 4-H CAMPS COMING IN JUNE! CAMPERS AND COUNSELORS WANTED!
It’s time to think about summer, warmer temperatures and registering for our area 4-H camps at Pinebluff 4-H Camp near Decorah. Youth staff has started planning another outstanding camping season.
All camps are two full days with one overnight. Registration deadline for all camps is April 15th and registration forms are available in the March Clover Connection, on the Howard County Extension website and from the Howard County Extension Office. Make sure to fill it out and register today to reserve your spot in a summer camp! A camp t-shirt is included with each camp.
Junior campers, currently in grades 4th-6th will have a 4-H Olympic Experience at Junior Camp on either June 6th-7th or June 13th-14th. This Olympic paced – action packed two-day, one-night camp is about letting you so some things you may not have gotten to do before! You will have a great time exploring the camp, enjoying fun activities and meeting other 4-H members! You may even leave camp with a 4-H fair exhibit completed! Unbelievable! Come and experience food and projects from around the world at this Olympic sized 4-H experience.
Intermediate campers, currently in grades 7th & 8th will experience A True Reality Experience on June 10th & 11th. We will challenge you to a true reality experience as you catch up with old friends and new as you tube down the Upper Iowa River and cross the swinging bridge to the upper campground. There are plenty of activities and projects planned for you. Plus, there will be time to hang out with friends and have fun in the natural beauty at Pinebluff! Night hike returns by popular demand and new this year is “water wars.” Things only get sillier as you get older!
High school students interested in serving as camp counselors should check their summer calendars and fill out a camp counselor application. Applications are available at the Extension Office or you may request an electronic version from Kaitlin by emailing kaitlin@iastate.edu. Applications are due April 15, 2013 to the Fayette County Extension Office. Camp Counselor training is scheduled for June 4th.
