4-H and FFA RIBBON AUCTION GROSSES $43,000
The 4-H and FFA ribbon auction at the 2012 Mighty Howard County Fair grossed $43,000 for the county youth this year. The average was $346.77 for the 124 ribbons sold. This is compared to $276.84 in 2011 when 122 ribbons sold.
There were 48 buyers. The highest ribbon bids were as follows:
Meat Goat ribbon for Erin Ryan bid by Don Anderson Insurance was $275.
Rabbit ribbon for Bryden Juelsgaard brought $425 bid by Juelsgard, Schmidt and Christensen Families.
Poultry ribbon for Joseph Gansen brought $675 bid by Peope’s Insurance
Horse Ribbons both $450 for Lindsey Anderson bid by Grover Farms and Brettyn Grover’s ribbon bid by Bob’s Electric.
Beef Ribbon for Tyler Rue bid $650 by Clet Koshatka Equipment.
Dairy Ribbon for Alyse Ahern Mittelstad bid by Dave’s Drywall, Kayla Hruska ribbon bid by Farmer’s Mill and Trevor Malven Ribbon bid by George Malven, each brought $700.
Sheep ribbon of Abby Huhe bid by Cresco Bank and Trust was $500.
Swine ribbon bid of $675 by Farmer’s Mill for Ryan Wilson’s ribbon.
