2012 4-H and FFA Poultry Show

The 4-H and FFA poultry show was held on Thursday, June 21.  In early May exhibitors were able to purchase market broilers for their project.  Those broilers were then entered in the fair for judging based on health, vigor, fleshing, feathering, conformation, skin condition and uniformity.

Participants in the Market Broiler class were in the Group 1 Light Weight Market Broiler class, Levi Klimesh, blue; Austin Klimesh, blue; Kaylie Klimesh, two blues; Rachel Stika, blue; Jacob Knutson, blue; Jacob Knutson, red; and Jared Knutson, two reds.  In the Group 2 Heavy Weight Market Broiler class, Sydney Klimesh, two blues; Logan Johnson, two blues; Austin Klimesh, blue; Jordan Klimesh, two blues; Levi Klimesh, blue; and Rachel Stika, red.

The Champion Market Broiler trophy sponsored by Wacha Insurance was awarded to Sydney Klimesh.  The Reserve Champion broiler pen trophy sponsored by Ron and Janice Klimesh also went to Sydney Klimesh.  The Heaviest Overall Market Broiler trophy sponsored by Keith Klimesh was awarded to Jordan Klimesh.

The Production Pullets with brown egg entries were exhibited by Cassy Kennon, blue; and Logan Johnson, red.  The Production Hen class with brown and color eggs were exhibited by George Laub, blue; Marisa Trautsch, blue; Shane Trautsch, blue; and Myranda Bartels, red. 

 The Champion Production Pen Pullets trophy sponsored by Decorah Chick Hatchery was awarded to George Laub.  The Reserve Champion of Production Pen Pullets was shown by Cassy Kennon.

 The Miscellaneous Market Birds, Ducks exhibitors were Susan Irvin, blue; and Eric Trautsch, blue.  The Miscellaneous Bird Class, Other exhibitor was Abby Kennon, blue.  Abby Kennon won the trophy sponsored by Jeff and Tess Kennon for Champion of Miscellaneous Birds.  Reserve Champion was Eric Trautsch.

 The Fancy Ornamental Stock Class entries included, in the Turkey Male class, Myranda Bartels, blue.  In the Male Waterfowl class exhibitors included Myranda Bartels, blue; Courtney Dietzenbach, red; and Kelly Dietzenbach, red.  The Female Waterfowl class exhibitors included Kelly Dietzenbach, blue; and Myranda Bartels, red.  In the Male Bantams class exhibitors included Courtney Dietzenbach, blue; Kelly Dietzenbach, blue; Jonathan Gardner, blue; and Myranda Bartels, red.  In the Female Bantams class exhibitors included Kelly Dietzenbach, blue; Jonathan Gardner, blue; and Myranda Bartels, red.  In the Male Other Breeds class exhibitors included Joseph Gansen, blue; Myranda Bartels, blue; Cassy Kennon, blue; Abby Kennon, blue; Susan Irvin, blue; Joseph Gansen, red; and Kelly Dietzenbach, red.  In the Female Other Breeds class exhibitors included Courtney Dietzenbach, blue; Kelly Dietzenbach, blue; Jonathan Gardner, blue; Susan Irvin, blue; Myranda Bartels, blue; and Abby Kennon, red.

 The Champion of the Fancy and Ornamental Stock Classes was Kelly Dietzenbach.  She received the trophy donated by Jeff and Tess Kennon.  Reserve Champion of the Fancy and Ornamental Stock Class was Jonathan Gardner.

 Jacob Knutson won the junior showmanship trophy sponsored by Ron and Suzanne Ollendick.  George Laub was the senior showmanship winner receiving a trophy sponsored by Keith Klimesh.  Second place in senior showmanship was Sydney Klimesh.
